The Nurturing Mother - Kathryn Dowell
This is Kathryn, a sweet and loving mother who like all of us only wish one thing. To do the best for her children! Just like many of us, she struggled to find balance between what others says it's the right choice vs what she feels is right choice for her children when it comes to feeding and "nurturing" her babies. And she has a beautiful message for us!
"I have evolved in being a mother to three little humans. I went from a full-time student and part-time work (pumping for over a year) to being a stay-at-home mother with my youngest never having a bottle to his lips."
"Mothering is consuming. It is rewarding and draining but also tiring and uplifting."
"Self-care is fleeting in this stage of life, with three tiny humans who are not going to feed themselves. I've learned to accept where I am every day. My flaws; physical, emotional, social, are who I am and I am enough."
"I can always strive for more. I can try and make tomorrow better than today. But I accept how I am right now.
And THAT is a truth I want everyone to know. What you are RIGHT NOW is enough."
"I never had a tandem goal. But it is where we are and that is just fine w me. I'm happy to be what I can for
what they need."
Motherhood is hardly ever what we expect and planned. We as mothers learn to adapt, to choose and to do what we believe is best for our children and our family. And THAT is mother's love. No matter what your choice is, how you do things or with what. When there is love and best intention, you are the nurturing mother your child needs.
