POSITIVE BODY IMAGE PROJECT
Positive Body Image (PBI)'s mission is to show others through photography that BEAUTY comes in all forms. Our mission is to encourage positive body image, self acceptance and love. Why have we let the media define “beauty?” Why has it come to the point that ideas like plastic surgery, eating disorders, self mutilation, reclusion, and even suicide have slithered their way into our minds?
This beauty is not to be confused with glamour or boudoir style photography. Its to capture the essence of raw beauty. With that in mind, there will be no editing in any extensive way to change the appearance of "percieved flaws" of the model. (i.e. stretch marks scars, freckles, body shape...) color corrections, stylizing and enhancing of images will be provided- not people.
By volunteering you will host events few times a year. We would love to see events once a month but we know you have your clients to take care of as well. Usually events are done in group of 4 or more models per event. However, this is optional if you wish to have individuals that is okay. We would like if possible, group shots as well as individual shots will be taken. Photographers may charge any amount for their session up to $30.00 (USD or equivalent). This shall include 3 Digital Files OR 3- 5x7 min in size prints to be provided to the client. We suggest sessions be limited to 15-30 minutes per client, this would not include the time during a group shot if one is planned. If you choose not to charge and provide events completely free of charge; all we ask each photographer is to provide models with at least receive one (1) group digital image and one (1) Individual digital image through email free of charge. These images can be watermarked with a logo. Positive Body Image is a non-profit project. It's all volunteer and donations are welcome. may choose to donate by purchasing non-watermarked images and prints. Participants may be charged to purchase digital images if no fee is charged for event. Digitals may not exceed $30 per image. We want to keep these events affordable for everyone who wishes to volunteer.
We ask each model to write us their story about their changes through motherhood and why they want to be part of PBI. Images and stories will be shared at Positive Body Image Facebook group, Page and on blogs. A signed agreement and model release is required for PBI to share your images and stories.
